Reliable Toasters is basically Doug Anderson and anyone silly enough to be caught playing with me. I write my songs out of my heart, so they mostly centre around my relationship with Jesus Christ. I try to make them interesting because if you're gonna spend 4 minutes listening to me, you should at least enjoy yourself!
Why this name?
The name comes from a Bible School teacher who said that the Old Testament characters were often tested by God, and then given His seal of approval. Much like an assembly line inspector. When you see the "inspected by" sticker, you know you are buying a reliable toaster
Do you play live?
I play live most Sunday mornings at Sutherland Church (it's my job!). Come check us out sometime.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes people's music available. I'd never get a record deal, but now I don't need one for YOU to be able to hear my music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I think so, because it would mean more exposure to the general populace.
Band History:
Started in 1998 with two thirds of a band called "North and the Sea" out of Thunder Bay, ON. Reformed at various points and now exists mostly in my imagination as I ponder my next project.
Your influences?
My favourite artists/ bands would include:
Lenny Kravitz, Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, Metallica, Steve Bell, Ottmar Liebert, Andres Segovia, Bill Mallonee/Vigilantes of Love. Not necessarily in that order, and whether or not they influence what I produce, you can gauge for yourself.

Favorite spot?
I love Vancouver, it's great.
Equipment used:
I have a Larrivee LVR-03E acoustic guitar. It's a great guitar, right up there with Martin and Taylor
Anything else...?
I hope you like my music, but if you don't, that's OK... you get what you pay for...
