More so than any other music since the blues, hip-hop is all about stories. And its stories come from both a criminal mind and a comedic sense of humor, making them enthralling and unbelievable, but also making them only as interesting and convincing as the teller. Despite not being signed to any label, and basically using the internet as an outlet, people have been flocking around this up-and-coming rapper “Rock” aka Tommy P aka Prairie.The Rock is to hip-hop what air is the human population. Rock, born Thomas Michael Prairie 26 years ago, has not giving up the hope that his fans will lead him in the right direction.

Born in the little city of Auburn in Upstate NY, home of the NY state prison, Rock didn’t grow up in the projects or drug dealing, and without the care of his mother and step father. It was actually the exact opposite. He didn’t live in the best neighborhoods, nor grow up with the finer things in life. Says Rock “We had food on our plates, a roof over our heads, and got whippings just like any other middle class kid, what else could I ask for, my family did all they could”

His desire for things would drive him to drop out of school in 10th grade and at only 18, and move to Boston where he got a job parking cars. It was in Boston at the age 21 his life would change dramtically. “ I was 21 and had a kid coming, living away from my friends and my high school sweet heart” says Rock. While living In Boston he quickly visited an old friend from his youth, and together had the same interest in mind. MUSIC, and to brake it down even more Rap/Hip-hop.

5 year later and many states away from home, Rock resides in Colorado, where he believe hip-hop has yet to bloom and produce a talented emcee such as himself. His never ending quest to be known and heard has his popularity growing with such songs as “ Rock wants in the game” “Club Song” and newest to the list “take the Pain”. His ego has not grown bigger than his talent, as he will admit he is not the best, “In my mind I’m the Greatest, in my heart I’m the greatest, but this world is filled with un surfaced talent as the industry looks for image before skill”

This Summer marked a stepping stone for him, after 5 years hard in the game, he took the stages of Denver and put on shows that left people wanting more.

In early 2007, Rock did soundtrack music for a Soccer DVD, and finally made money off his words. Recently his hard work and effort to advance had paid off with the meeting and instant bonding he receive through working with Flam ENT. Everything started to fall into place with the New combination of Flam Ent. & Blunt Instrument, combining and sparking the way for the next step in hiphop today, and paving the way for talent in the future.
