"The female Johnny Ramone."

Yep, that's what I've been called. And I guess it's a pretty accurate description. I like to play hard, fast, simple but complicated, melodic but noisy.

I'm pretty much a solo artist and write and record my own stuff. I played in a bunch of bands over the years in Toronto, and am hoping to get some more going in the near future.
Why this name?
I chose it because it is the Japanese god of the underworld and ruler of the dead. I like stuff like that.
Do you play live?
When I played in my past bands we were always doing shows. I've played my own punk stuff live with bands and solo in the past...I'd like to get the opportunity to do it again some day. I haven't played my side project The Gloom live at all, and I'm not sure if I will. Dronica has played a few shows, and will do more in the future.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has allowed the musician to be self-employed. We can sell our CD's ourselves, promote ourselves, record ourselves--everything!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I probably would, as long as it was understood that it would have to be a situation where I was benefited financially very well.
Band History:
I have been playing for 19 years. I grew up on punk rock, but learned guitar by playing L7, Nirvana, Metallica and old punk rock songs. I got my start in Elliot Lake and Ottawa, Ontario, jammin' with a couple people, doing punk & grunge covers, and my own material. When I moved to Toronto I started playing in bands and my first real gig was with a garage/psychedelic/rock band Trans Love Airways.

I also played in The Johnnys and Fidget, and started my own projects Underwire, Pimpinella, The Gloom, Dronica, The Impatiens and Emma-O.
Your influences?
old punk, rock'n'roll, emocore, heavy metal, grunge, life, death, circumstances, love, hate, desire, anger, passion, rage, Nature, discordance, joy, death, ghosts, aliens, altered states of consciousness, the afterlife, energy
Favorite spot?
Anywhere out in the wilderness, especially Elliot Lake, Ontario
Equipment used:
Crap that I make do with and make sound good no matter what.

An Epiphone Les Paul
A crappy Peavy Bandit amp
On some of my recordings I'm playing through a Hiwatt, which I love the most!
Various other crap.
Anything else...?
