We play radio-oriented dark heavy music with melody, ala Alice In Chains, without comprimising the brutality.
Why this name?
It embodies the concept of a society that is on the brink of apocalypse. It is a statement of the current state of the world, and the people who will ultimately bring it to an end...
Do you play live?
Of course. We are based in Sacramento, CA but we are currently preparing to conquer the world.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It provides access to thousands of listeners who otherwise may not hear your music. It also gives you the ability to hear from those listeners and connect with them on some level
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
There's no reason not to. The whole concept of people saying crap like "If you sign to a major label, you're selling out!", makes me laugh my ass off. Sell us out!!! Sorry if we want millions of people to hear what we are busting our asses to create.
Band History:
DECONSTRUCT was formed in early 2003. They have released a four song EP entitled "Sign Of Things To Come." After hearing an advance copy of the EP, David Draiman and Dan Donegan of DISTURBED personally chose DECONSTRUCT to open the Music As A Weapon 2 concert at the San Jose Event Center. Chevelle, Taproot, and Unloco also appeared at the show, which was attended by 5000. Sign Of Things To Come was added to over 60 college radio stations, and the single I AM also received substantial play on some commercial stations, including KXOA in Sacramento, CA. Deconstruct has opened for many rock heavy-weights including Iron Maiden, Motorhead and Def Leppard. The band is currently preparing to release their first full-length album, "The Human Condition."
Your influences?
We are dark like Alice in Chains, with weird Korn type elements, Marilyn Manson type over the top stage show, and heaviness ranging from Disturbed to Deftones. Sprinkle in a little Pantera and we're good to go!
Favorite spot?
The edge of the earth.
