Hey all, my name is Alan Brooks Clifton. I'm an 18 year guy and I play guitar. I've played violin, percussion, piano, and guitar, but this is my thing; shown with my excessive sucking at the other instruments I've tried, haha. I love it. I've been playing for four years now and plan to keep it going for many more. In the past six months or so I've made the transition to playing seven string guitars and never plan to look back. My main thing is metal, but I occasionally get some other stuff going on as well. I currently have no band, but we'll see what happens in time.
Why this name?
Alan - Alan Jackson
Brooks - Garth Brooks
Clifton - My Amazing Family
Do you play live?
Haven't in a while, but I loved it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It helps it spread a lot easier.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
As long as it wasn't contractual rape.
Band History:
Not much to say. I started playing guitar a little over four year ago, and that's about it.
Your influences?
Nevermore, Fear Factory, Machine Head, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Behemoth, Strapping Young Lad, Opeth, etc.
Favorite spot?
Nothing really stands out as of yet.
Equipment used:
Right now I play a Schecter C7 Hellraiser loaded with EMG 707s. I've played many different brands of guitars (Ibanez, Jackson, LTD, etc) and your gonna have a hard time pulling me away from seven string Schecters with anything short of a custom shop Jackson. I'm going through a Peavey 5150 ran into a Laney TT412A. All of this is linked up with Ibanez cables and I pick along with Jim Dunlop Ultex Jazz III picks. My recording setup is basically a Samson C01U ran into my lap top which is using Reaper to record/mix and the drum tracks are thrown together with Fruity Loops 6.0.
