Why this name?
Original founder member Melanie chose it, to represent her indignance to the attitude generally prevelant in society about dressing children in strong gender-role colours and styles, typecasting them and stifling originality from a young age. (Are you still reading this?)
The band has now evolved into a much stronger rock four-piece, but still carries the ethos first adopted by its' earlier incarnations.

..... who wouldnt? The whole "selling out" debate has become somewhat futile in an industry which was always so heavily led by commercial profit and corporate greed.....maybe if some artists had read and amended the small print they wouldnt feel quite so cheated....
