Ugly Drunkling
We are a rock band. We play heavy, soft, slow, fast, pretty, ugly, complex, simple, happy, sad, pissed off, introspective, energetic, and many other adjectives.
Why this name?
J.D. Salinger was a very influential writer. I imagine he still is.
Do you play live?
Sometimes. Anywhere. We do enjoy playing live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Of course it changes it, but not to the degree some have predicted. I can't speak for the rest of the band, but I feel that large media conglomerates will eventually find an effective way to battle "illegal" down-loading and use it for their ends.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depending upon the contract. Not all contracts are created equal.

Your influences?
Punk. Metal. Hardcore. Rock. Post-whatever. So-called classic rock. These would be the influences that are somewhat indicative... others like blues, hip-hop, country, techno, etc. are less obvious.

Mike: Fender and Gibson guitars. Mesa Boogie amps. Jenz Benz speaker enclosure.
Matt: Epiphone and Danelectro guitars. Crate Blue Voodoo amps. Fender speaker enclosure.
Kris: Fender bass guitar. Carvin Redline Bass amps.
Jordan: DW drums.
Jon: golden vocals chords, his mind, any mic you put in front of him.
We use all cheap stick, pick, string, cable, foot pedal, guitar stand, strap, etc. brands.
