Why this name?
Ktutu in Malagasy means "any stuff" which expresses quite well the spirit inside the band.
Do you play live?
We've already played twice in 2004 and 2005. twas great. We were on fire!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
For new bands like us, internet is the most powerful and efficient media to join the largest audience, and the whole world.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yes, si, oui, ja, da, eny, hay...
Band History:
The members of Ktutu met in 2003 in Dakar, Senegal. But they were all coming from Madagascar.
We felt so lost in this foreign country that we decided to create a band to express our frustration. We quickly chose the name and immediatly started to compose our first song titled "shampoo party". One of the fist live performances was in Feb 2005, but the first true concert (playing almost 20 tracks) happened in june 2005.
In december 2005, Narindra left Senegal. This event was the pretext for a break and members started to think about the future of the band.

Your influences?
We are inspired by heavy metal, techno and world music (especially System of a down, Metallica, Pink Floyd). We are more into crash guitars but we often use samples and keyboards.
Favorite spot?
We love Antananarivo of course!!! and London.
Equipment used:
Yamaha PSR 9000, Ovation and Gibson guitars, Cubase SX and ProTool...
