The Jumps

The Jumps are:

* Spencer Jump - Drums
* Di Jump - Vocals
* Tim Jump - Vocals/Harmonica
* Pete Jump - Bass
* Jon Jump - Guitar

We are all brothers, apart from Di, who is obviously a girl, and Pete, who is a cousin twice over by virtue of his mum marrying our mums brother & vice versa.

Our thing is rhythm and blues and keeping the gene pool as shallow as possible.

Our aim is the eventual development by this means of:-

1. A drummer with three ears - that way he will be able to use the spare to LISTEN TO THE OTHER PEOPLE
2. A guitarist with 2 extra fingers for those difficult to do licks invented after 1963
3. A harmomica player capable of turning up with more than one harmonica - thus allowing the use of the legendary "fourth chord"

Our breeding program has produced no actual results as yet but Spence has recently started cloning in his shed (at least, that's what he says he's doing in there all day) and we live in hope.
Che Cosa, People?
Why this name?
Surname maybe, could be another reason?
Do you play live?
Yes, in the West Midlands area of the Uk, Unless we get offered further afield.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It can get the music out there without Gigging, which in some cases isn't always a good idea, there should be no substitute for the spontaniety of Live Music!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of Course it's difficult to get heard as it is, they should help a great deal.
Band History:
We are all from Shropshire, the band started with Jon, Tim and Spencer in 2003 with another Pete on Bass, he left at the end of 2003 to be replaced by Carl who also left in June 2004, Pete joined on Bass as did Di on Vocals and our first gig together was the 8th October 2004 at The Haygate in Wellington, Telford.
We have been gigging regularly at venues from North to South Shropshire, with the plan to play in the Wolverhampton and Birmingham area in the near future!
Your influences?
Etta James to the Rolling Stones
Favorite spot?
The Pear Tree Bridge Inn, Oakengates, Telford.
The Grapes, Stafford
Equipment used:
Guitars, Bass, Drums and Harmonica
Anything else...?
The Jumps split in 2006 however I (Pete Jump) have been trying to keep the dream alive!
