My Funky Frap

As a solo producer, Fizz de Zyn has grown up through the dance era of trance and techno, DJing for the past 11 years and promoting for the best part of 2 years. Since redundancy from his design work he has had more time to concentrate on experimentations with influenced productions of a funky techno like genre.

Giving himself a rule to produce a unique sense of non mainstream dancefloor funk whilst learning drum patterns and track structures without education FDZYN has lots to offer DJ's and dancers in the coming months.

Why this name?

Fizz de Zyn stems from my DJ name and an outstanding performance from a certain techno DJ Funk d'Void and being a great person its kind of a tribute.

Do you play live?

FDZYN has recently hung up his DJ headphones but may well acquire DJ gigs if offered, maybe alongisde LIVE sets upon completion of his new album.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

Digital audio files has had a massive impact on the DJ scene and clubscene. Up and coming DJs have taken to illegal downloads of tracks just to keep up with the bigger name djs. But now it is so easy to get these tracks people tend to source new material from wherever they can now, and thus leads to more getting into productions of their own...such as myself.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

If the right label for me approached then yes i would consider it. Otherwise running my own label would be a possibility to get my music out there.

Your influences?

My influences come from a techno inspired DJ Funk D'Void, Marco V, and producers such as Dahlback.

Favorite spot?

Has to be my hometown, Newcastle. Ive only ever been to Ibiza so I would say sitting on Play den Bossa beach late at night, quietly chilled.
