We are from the northern part of Norway, way north of the arctic circle. We play "Melodic hard rock, bordering on metal, with symphonic prog tendencies." We are a five-piece: Drums, Bass, Keys, Guitar and Vocals. Our most important asset is our songwriting. I guess it doesn't harm that we love performing the songs.
We've been doing this for more than 15 years now, with the same line-up. We won't quit, and now our first album is up for release this year!
Why this name?
Because it's so full of meanings, and it's got this mood about it. It's us. It's the melody, the mood and the heritage of winter. It's where we come from.
Do you play live?
Yes, but not often, lately. We live scattered about the whole country. It's more than 1000 miles from me to our keyboard player, for instance! But we enjoy it, so we'll try to make it happen again. We've been together for 15 years, and have played support for Ronnie Le Tekrø (TNT) and the Thin Lizzy covers band he had, Bad Habitz. -A very nice experience. A very nice guy.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I cry for the existence and health of the good old "package". The cover, booklet, lyrics and thank you lists, album credits and cover art. And the physical cd or whatever medium. But I hope people can compensate by way of the internet. -Getting all the info there, while listening to mp3's on their thumbnail sized gizmo. As for the industry, I think the best we can hope for is that getting your material released will be easier and cheaper for all. Since you don't have to manufacture the actual cd's and covers, the financial barriers are much easier to overcome. So it's a mixed feelings issue.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I honestly don't know about a major label. A smaller, more musically interested label would be my first choice. But hey, if Sony get down on their knees, begging, while offering us a ridiculous amount of money...

Your influences?
We sound like no single band in particular, but are inspired by the likes of Rush, Marillion, Shadow Gallery, Magnum and Journey, and to an undefinable horde of melodic, more or less “proggy” bands. We’re very much about MELODY and LYRICS, as well as the best possible MUSIC to back this up. Great SONGS performed with passion. Can it get any better?
Favorite spot?
Somewhere between my wife's something or other
Anything else...?
We will stay for decades on end, and we have finished material for several albums. We can go into a dry today, and still keep it up for another at least 3. Still, we're writing new stuff all the time, and it's only getting better (of course)!
