Complex and experimental organic ambient soundscapes, sometimes dark and cold as windy winter night, sometimes bright and warm as late summer meadow...
Why this name?
It was modified from the original, more complicated one - 'surparadial uphorm', it also sounds a bit like my all-time favorite ambient record 'Substrata' by Biosphere.
Do you play live?
Not really, not yet
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
definitely, in both ways - good & bad
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yes
Band History:
Subradial is Tomasz Szatewicz (Poland)
Born in the small polish town Mragowo, Tomasz started to create electronic music in 1994.
Early music explorations were inspired by idm / breaks / drill'n'basss stuff.
Subradial's recent output is a mixture of various sounds - drones, 'rhythm-like' sounds and loops, synthesizer sounds, acoustic instruments and found sounds - all combined together to create unusual, deep and complex soundworlds. "I was always inspired by listening to the sounds of the environment surrounding my home town as well as listening to electronic music. I think the best things happen when the music is created in natural and sometimes very experimental way. I use everything that sounds interesting for my ears and what I can use to create the imagined soundscape, a vision of some place, express my emotions or moods connected with past times or places. I love to experiment with sounds, especially heavily processed found sounds. They have some kind of 'sonic background' beside the main sound - it's like discovering 'hidden worlds of sounds". There are unlimited sources of fascinating sounds everywhere around us, even without the use of any analog or digital sound generators you can create interesting electronic music made from processed field recordings. And yes, I am a maniacal sound collector!
