Chokai is an eclectic blend of nostalgia, nature and life expressed in electronica.
Why this name?
The name arrived because of my love for Japan-Chokai is a mountain in Akita.
Do you play live?
Have only ever played live on online braodcasts so far, but hopefully that will change!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes greedy record companies more greedy. The independant labels did it first, and the money grabbing big shots came in and undercut them all.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hell yes. But i know that is not going to happen-big record companies know that they would have to pay peeps like us more simply because we actually PRODUCE records rather than just sing or look pretty. (do i come across bitter?) ;)

Ambience and breakbeat, down-tempo jazz, electronica and trip hop. Influences are Boards of Canada, Junction 11, Jazzanova, Royksopp, Mouse on Mars, Vince DiCola, Barry DeVorzon, Susumu Yakota, Daft Punk, Air, Kraftwerk, Radiohead and many more.
