Antartica is Jose E. Roman's outlet for electronic music compositions. Whether techno, drum n'bass, electronica or trance, Antartica not only creates magic in the studio but also is well known for it's live performances.
Why this name?
Cause Antartica is far removed from everyone and it's a place of my own.
Do you play live?
Yes. Whenever I can get a gig. I love it. Everytime Antartica rocks the dance floor.
If you make it big..?
I'll be free to create and produce other people's creative output
Band History:
Born as a creative output for Jose E. Roman (vocalist/programmer of industrial rock band Hijos de Cain), Antartica became a full-time endeavour last year when they were asked to play the biggest rave in Puerto Rico. The reaction was overwhelming. While playing to full-capacity audiences in raves and concerts in clubs, amphitheatre and other venues, Antartica has recorded 2 albums. "Antartica Starts Here" and "Schonemaschinemusik"

Alexander (http://www.mp3.com/coleslaw) said this about Technodub (live): "Awesome intro, and slammin powerfull beats! This song kicks ass! It's like a techno heavy song or something! It's worth the download!" Alex from Raw 42 Monthly E-zine, http://www.ward42.com/raw Canada said: "From the vocalist of hijos de cain comes the ambient / electronica project, antartica. and what a cut above many of the other techno and electronic bands we've recently reviewed. here is an artist that stands out in composition, sound, arrangement and just a general 'know-how.' sueƱo fractal, labeled as trance, certainly lives up to that although some of the sounds used are almost industrial and heavy in nature. the quarter beat delay on the kick, which is the driving force, makes this song flow and gives it a full, wall of sound feel. In technodub (live 12-31-99 remix), that industrial influence is again in evidence and makes this hard techno song, very interesting and very cool. Fast and furious with guitar feedback in all the right places." "Hardcore Techno inspired by Curve and Swervedriver. Heavy beats against a wall of raging guitars unites hair-farming headbangers and ravers with big-ass ravepants." - Melissa P.(Listen.com) "Jose from Hijos de Cain displays a keen knack for hard techno with this cut. A bludgeoning assault on the senses, with sheets of distorted drones splashing like ice cold water over a hypnotic backbeat and heavy fast guitar riffs. Very cinematic. This is very now, very contemporary- it would fit perfectly over any of the hyperkinetic foot chases in the film The Matrix. This cut does not get overly repetitious, which is a danger when composing in this genre. Nice job." -Mark James Murphy
