We gathered in october 2000 and we have enough material for two conceptual records.We combine music similar to Romanian folklore with rock and ambiental music..Our name - BUCIUM - represents an old roumanian musical wood instrument having ancient spiritual and cultural roots. This instrument was used by our people, especially by shepherds, in battle - for coded signals or in times of peace for announcements. It actually represents a signal for gathering. Our message is therefore the need of returning to spiritual roots and of coming through a spiritual revival.

We are definitely a live act. We play small venues for now but we enjoy every single moment of it. Our shows last more than 2 hours and we always want to give everything for our fans.

The internet is what makes people come togheter.And everyone chooses what is made for him. Therefore music industry finds an easyer way to gather great new coming bands, as great artists as well, and can provide musical products to a larger mass of people.

The band was born in octomber 2000. The members are Andy Dumitrescu - composer, guitarist,vocalist, Daniel Simoaica - bass guitar, Alexandra Milea - violin, Florina Petrescu - violin, Adrian Rugina - drums. We have the finished material for two conceptual records.

We cannot be included in a certain genre, and that`s why we cannot name precisely any musical influence in our way of playing. There are indeed some influences that made us musicians as we are now.We can mention Metallica, Iron Maiden, classical music like Rimsky Korsakov and Rachmaninov, Sting,Led Zeppelin, and many others but none is found in our way of playing.
