Human Skum is a Raw Pagan Black Metal band. I play for the destruction of disgusting human scum and the destruction of modern society. My views center around some NS topics,paganism/anti-christianity, depression, self-destruction, and of course suicide.Most of Human Skum's tracks center around depression during winter and deep dark chambers of self-doubt created within the mortal mind.
Why this name?
I chose my bandname because this is how I feel towards the plague that is humanity. By nature humans are scum. This project has some NS views,but I do not consider this project to be an NS project. I also feel that humans are useless garbage. So that is why I decided to use the name Human Skum.
Do you play live?
No I do not play live as I am the only member. I don't think I will ever play live because I plan to keep it this way. I like being the only member because I do not feel that my creativity is being criticized or lessened.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet opens a whole world to underground music and of course makes it easier to promote your band. It is also a safe haven for trendy bastards and scum of the earth. Death to these plagues!!!! The internet is a more convenient/easier way to get your band noticed by fans of the same music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would only if the interest and motivation to promote this band was legitimate on the side of the label. There are some major labels I would never dream of signing to, like Nuclear Blast or Dwell Records.
Band History:
The idea of Human Skum was formed in early 2002. I did not actually start writing/recording until early 2003. Originally, it was set to be called Cryptic Wintermoon. I decided this name was used too much in various ways and decided to change it to Human Skum. I was originally in a Black/Death metal band called Decrepit, but we had a falling out due to a member wanting to only play video games and eat cheeseburgers. What scum.
Your influences?
My musical influences are Burzum, Absurd (Ger), Graveland, Darkthrone, Vlad Tepes, Mutiilation, Satanic Warmaster, Veles, Mayhem(old),Xasthur, Leviathan, Forgotten Woods, Sargeist, Judas Iscariot, and many others. Don't think for one second that I plan to rip off or copy the music of the above bands. Nor do I aim to sound like them.
Favorite spot?
My favorite spot is the forest. A quiet place away from cultural chaos and human life. I would like to see my birthplace which is Frankfut, Germany.
Equipment used:
I use only the tools in which to end this life on earth.

Human Skum has recorded a rehearsal demo. It is titled Rehearsal Winter '04. The second demo is titled ..."And Upon The Shores Of Death" which was recorded last winter and I finished the last details in January of this year.
