Devastus, Devastation, the same guy. I make music just for the fun of it, but basically the favoured genres of mine are the Film/Game industry and Metal. Other genres are tried out aswell, but not that often. It's difficult to label what kinda music I make since I have two totally different genres favoured, so the influences are basically those that can be apparent in some of my songs. I tried to sum it up to the most apparent ones though.
Why this name?
Both were online aliases which I stuck up with for many years, didn't go through the hassle to create a different name to such project.
Do you play live?
Nope, no live play.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has alot to do with people getting to listen more of their favoured music, and it makes it much easier to find good "underground" bands and musicians.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Doesn't happen with music like this. Besides, if I want a record contract with my metal music, I want to have a real band for that occasion.
Band History:
Started from composing with MIDI sequencers -- now recorded music and details on the sound quality. Been just a hobby, from the beginning till this day. That's basically all there is to it.
Your influences?
Too many to describe, really. I guess you could say somewhere along the lines of Jeremy Soule, Nobuo Uematsu etc. for game and film music, and a dozen or more of metal bands for the metal side.
Favorite spot?
I don't really have one.
Equipment used:
Cakewalk SONAR 8, Reason 3, Behringer B2 Pro microphone, Amplitube 2 (and Amplitube Metal), all sorts of stuff.
