Tap Dance Tragedy is a band from Glenmoor, a small town in Ohio. We consist of 2 guitarist, one bassist, and a drummer, with the vocal load shared between the stringed players.
Why this name?
We were watching South Park while trying to think of a name. It was the "You got served" spoof episode, in which Butters kills 10 people in a tragic tap dancing accident. I think that about explains it.
Do you play live?
We love playing live shows. We will play any were. Up to this point it has mostly been in the local area. The farthest away we have gone is Mount Union College in Alliance, Oh.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes music so much more accessable. You no longer have to rely on MTV or ClearChannel to tell you who is good. There are so many independent bands that are getting huge now thanks in large part to posting their music on the internet.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Most likely. We were offered a deal with a small label, but they wanted too much commitment for too little compensation.
Band History:
Tap Dance Tragedy is a rock band from Glenmoor, Ohio. The members of Tap Dance Tragedy include Joe Ammon on guitar and vocals, Jake Estell on guitar and vocals, Adam Possage on bass guitar and vocals, and Justis Estell on drums. They were formed in March of 2004 when the bands the four were in parted ways. Since that time, Tap Dance Tragedy has been assaulting music fans of the area with their vicious set of original material, and the occasional cover song for flavor. They prefer not to hinder themselves by laying claiming to any particular genre, but those who have survived the aural attack have described their music as Post Hardcore, Indie, Jazz Punk, Math Rock, Smart Rock, Hardcore Punk, Funk Rock, and really effing sweet. They also remark on how talented the musicians are for such a young age, as 3 members are still in high school. Their EP Black Void is out now for the low price of $7. Check them out on the web at www.myspace.com/tapdancetragedy.
