Eric Pazdziora is a freelance composer, pianist, and worship leader specializing in a wide variety of musical styles. His compositions range from full orchestral works to simple congregational worship songs and hymns.

He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, with a Bachelor of Music degree in Sacred Music Composition.
Why this name?
My parents gave it to me when I was born. The surname is Polish and is pronounced "Paz-di-OR-a" ("Pass the aura").
Do you play live?
My wife Carrie and I lead worship at Holy Trinity Church every other week in downtown Chicago. I've done piano gigs here and there, as well as a recent tour to Florida as accompanist with the Moody Women's Concert Choir. My art music compositions also appear on concert programs from time to time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is a great tool to provide exposure for emerging artists without the muscle of a major record label. This levels the playing field (in theory anyway) so you have a better chance of success without having to depend on the starmaker machinery. It also unfortunately makes copyright infringement a lot easier. (Note to all concerned: that's illegal and wrong!)
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
"Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes."
Band History:
Eric M. Pazdziora, b. 1981, expressed an interest in music at an early age, starting piano lessons at age six with Mrs. Melanie Rost. His career as a composer was launched when at age eight he wrote a musical that was performed by his third grade class in Crystal Lake, IL.

Later, as a pianist at various churches in southern Wisconsin, Eric improvised arrangements of hymns and composed new worship songs, notably a full-length Christmas production that was performed by the youth at the Community Church of Elkhorn. He recently ministered as worship leader at Lake Shore Baptist Church, and currently serves at Holy Trinity Church.

Eric is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, with a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition. His primary composition teacher was Dr. Edwin T. Childs. Orchestras, instrumental ensembles, church choirs, and soloists have performed Eric's compositions. His recent commissions include choral works, instrumental pieces, art songs, film scores, and incidental music for drama.

Currently, he lives in Chicago, Illinois with his wife Carrie.

Your influences?
Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Michael Talbot, Marty Goetz, Olivier Messiaen, Igor Stravinsky, Felix Mendelssohn, Edwin T. Childs, Michael Card, Ludwig van Beethoven, Carrie Pazdziora, J. S. Bach, R. A. Torrey, Mozart, Ken Medema, John Tavener, Morten Lauridsen, Aaron Copland, Irish / Celtic folk music, Stuart Dauermann, and probably several others.
Favorite spot?
I bloom where I'm planted. Right now I like Chicago. I might wind up in Ireland one day, but that's a long story (and it's still being written).
Equipment used:
A brain, a piano and a naturally occurring human vocal apparatus, often supplemented with a microphone. For notation, I'm proficient at Finale. To record, I use a computer, a decent microphone, MIDI, a good sound card, and a lot of ingenuity.
