An African tribal rock band from Botswana in Aferika
Why this name?
Orison is an old saying of prayer. It's simply Metal prayer
Do you play live?
We are a live band, we played in most countries in Southern Africa including South Africa where we have strong audience, people like us so much as they see us different , more so that it not common to find all black guys playing rock music especially from aferika, they are so keen to find a lot about us..i guess ???
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is part of modernisation we cannot ran away from it, it is part of development, therefore it the most hated tools by major labels after discovering un signed band like us from internet sources/mp3..viva mp3 forever till mp9
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
Band History:
TRIBAL AFRICAN ROCK ALBUM/BAND/(METAL ORIZON)
INTRO
Metal Orizon is un –signed and it releases it’s albums through In-House label
(Afro-Angel Records). The band consist of Spencer on voice and guitars, Santos On bass, Slaexeur on drums and Sentah on Growling.
Metal Orizon was formed 1990 and is Botswana, Aferika based Tribal African rock band.
It has released two albums independently which sold well in Botswana as well as other Southern African countries (South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Zambia ,Swaziland and Zimbabwe. The first album(Ancestral Blessings) was released in 1999 and sold over 8500 copies while the second album(Myopic…Enslavement) doubled the sales to 15800 copies so far.
The band is a force to reckon in Southern Africa especially South Africa because of it’s hard work, commitment, disciplined, originality and organized management. It won the band of the year during Botswana Music awards 2002. The band command and enjoy good publicity locally and in South Africa as it often played in radio stations(5fm, Tuks fm, HIGHVELD stero,Ferrometal MW and other college radios) .
Further more the band usually get invitation to play in South African annual festivals like Woodstock and Oppikoppi where after every performance the band will be engulfed by media from television and print media, keen to know more about the so called strange unique band.
The band is now mature to penetrate overseas/international market and we are seeking for any good deal to expose us to the world which never thought of African rock music. To emphasise our point the band is currently working with an American legendery producer Ron Goudie (who discovered and signed great bands like Poison, Stryper and Gwar to name a few) who was brought in by the band to assist in raising our level production from recording to final mixing and remastering to match with international standards, as we really want to prove our point(no one is gonna stop us.
Our current intention is to find a good record deal and our third album as a benefit album to Botswana and SOUTHERN African HIV/AIDS CRISIS, whereby 30 percent of the population is infected. Last year during world aids day we launched an annual benefit music festival called ROCK AGAINST HIV which involved some bands from South Africa where we raised over 3000 bucks to AIDS/HIV non governmental agencies. We want to make our third album a next giant step of true positiveness
Metal Orizon trust that your effort could make a great difference
Thank You
