This is my label "17musicsouth".we are located in new orleans,la. and our recording facility in baton rouge,la. we have been selling music locally for 3 years and have sold more than 10,000 c.d.'s underground.i am the CEO of "17Musicsouth",i am Tim "T-MANN" Veret.i also produce music for many labels in the city of new orleans as well as artist.We have both R&B and Rap artist coming out this year so be on the lookout fir that "17Musicsouth" sound
Why this name?
i chose this name for my company because i am from 17th ward new orleans born and raised and we are in the deep dirty south it should be self explanatory from there.
Do you play live?
We perform many shows.i opened up for tupac in the louisiana superdome,i performed for president clinton 50th birthday via sattelite with whoopi goldberg and many local spots between atlanta and mississippi.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
yeah,the internet has changed the industry,but it's good and bad/good for rising artist to be heard and able to post there product for a&r reps to hear without an expensive budget/Bad for established labels because we can download anything on the internet cutting record sales.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yeah,i don't mind people downloading my music.i do it for the pleasure and the money and i have a studio of my own to pre-record my ideas..........i don't want to have to pay a major label tons of money for recording and they make all the money,thats why they are mad because most artist want upfront money and thats hard to do when u are not going to make but maybe a quarter of that back after expenses.

i am influenced by many artist,no particular artist has really helped me to maintain and create a style .

california is my favorite spot,i use to be signed with suge knight as my manager years ago before death row came along.
