Music is how I get my emotions out. Whatever they are at the time. My album (Out Of The Shadows) was an exploration for me and took two years in its completion. The final product is something I am proud of. I won't claim to be anything I'm not. Just let the music speak for me.
Why this name?
I am proud of who I am. Don't need to be anything but myself. So no need for any catchy name. Just want to stand on my own reputation. Let someone else be DJ WANG or whatever.
Do you play live?
Getting together with various types of musicians to put a live thing together, but gonna work hard to make it different than the cd. Too many folks just stand up some pretty colored lights on stage and spin their cd and try to look like they are doing something. It is going to be something worth going to. So it is going to take some time yet.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has made it easier to get started and be heard, but harder for established musicians to make money with all the piracy.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only a label that would represent me in a way that is true and allows me to make my music other than be a clone of someone else.
Your influences?
I am into all styles. I have a wide range of musical interests. But as far as what I'm doing, the electronic thing, I like what BT is doing and Roni Size.
Favorite spot?
I went to Nova Scotia on my honeymoon. The landscape and simplicity of life was amazing.
Equipment used:
I've used Wavelab and Syntrillium's Cool Edit for recording my keys, vocals, guitars, and everything and then Cakewalk, Mixman and other programs for mixing in the breakbeats and sound effects. Stay versatile to meet the needs of each track.
