Why this name?
the multi-faceted connotations of the word blue.
Do you play live?
not in this capacity.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
it levels the playing field considerably, and makes it easier for more bands to be heard by more people. depending on how you look at it, this could be either really good or really bad. also, although the convenience factor of mp3 for promoting music online is great, the quality isn't. support the artists, and buy their CDs.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
i doubt it. aside from not wanting to relinquish artistic/creative control, there doesn't seem to be a vast market for experimental ambient soundscapes anyway, so i don't see the opportunity arising anytime soon.
Band History:
1986 - 1988 played saxophone in school band.
1991(?) developed intense interest in drums, due in large part to boris williams from the cure.
1998 - 2001 played drums on a regular basis at college with a rotating cast of musicians.
spring of 2002 began creating music on my computer, using prefab loops. even at this early stage, i was fascinated with how a simple rhythm or melody could be manipulated into something entirely new.
early 2003 forsook the loop compositions and began exploring the world of software synthesizers and effects, as well as creative sonic sculpting of more traditional instruments such as guitar and harmonica.
