My alter-ego, Incubus Lovechild, first surfaced at a local pub "talent" night back in '94 & transmuted in to the Alien persona portrayed to date around 1996.
Why this name?
The name came from a twisted sense of humour - An Incubus being a mythological demon that impregnated virgin women in their dreams, the Lovechild being the spawn of that union - i.e. me!!
Do you play live?
Because along with writing all my own material I play / sequence all the instruments too, playing live is a little impractical currently - looking to invest in a laptop to sequence backing "Live" -Mostly played acoustic guitar stuff on live webcast events on www.bumpskey.com
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It removes all of the stumbling blocks of A&R, management & the rest of the elitist bullshit barring artists from entering the mainstream - independent artists can now promote themselves via this kind of website (check out my promo site at www.skidmark.org).
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
They wouldn't touch me - If I was honest, I'd say I was more of a writer than a performer.
Band History:
Influenced heavily by the psychedelic space rockers HAWKWIND, Incubus Lovechild crash landed on Earth circa 1967. The cyber assassin began chronicling his experiences as a human being during the mid-90's experimenting with entry-level keyboards & guitars. Post millenium Lovechild uses higher-Tech instruments and sequencers but material is unable to be released until the new control centre being constructed in the attic of his safe house is completed sometime near the end of 2005! Note: Incubus Lovechild is so underground the press haven't excavated to his level yet!! Check out all the other independent artists listed aboard the mothership at www.skidmark.org
