After The Rain is a rock band dedicated to making music for the love of music. We hope that our music is both moving and enjoyable.
Why this name?
The name was taken from the lyrics of "Missing Something About You," from our debut album, Scripting Goodbye.
Do you play live?
Playing any gigs we can find in the LA area and at school open mics and events.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is doing wonders for the music industry, ESPCIALLY for new artists. Without it, we wouldn't be able to put our music up right now for others to listen to and get to know us.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely. There is nothing wrong with earning an income by doing what you love. As long as you are not compromising your artistic values just so you can make money, I think it's an ideal situation. Ultimately, it should always be about the music.
Band History:
After The Rain was originally formed in Boulder, CO by Tom Zukowski(bass) and David Bergner (guitar) during the summer of 2003. They had played together in their high school jazz band and discovered that they shared many similar musical interests and ideas. After jamming a few times in and out of class, they decided that during that summer ('03), they were going to write an entire album. A couple weeks into summer, they got together and started writing fueled by an incredible creative chemistry. So excited by the material they were writing, they decided to find a drummer and record their songs. Recruiting another fellow jazz bander from their highschool, they used a 10 track digital recorder to record the album themselves. With a bunch of new songs and a record, they booked a show at a local studio to promote the record. The show went wonderfully and the band was very well received. Three days later Tom left for college in LA at USC. Once David graduated, he went to Occidental college in LA. Immediately, Tom and David started writing again. After writing an entire album's worth of solid material, they were lucking enough to find a drummer at Occidental named Patrick Egan. Now that the band is complete, the band is starting to play local shows any time they can.
