Alecx
Why this name?
There are no other members except me, so I chose my middle name...sort of. It's Alec.
Do you play live?
Currently I don't play live, I only play and record in my home project studio, time permitting ..lol.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
What a wonderful opportunity the internet as given as all; to reach other people and listen to their music, when otherwise it'd be only what we hear on the radio or can buy at the retailers. Look at Soundclick itself... being able to hear others wonderful music, and be able to purchase it and mayhap sell your own. Sometimes I'm not happy where I think the world is heading, but being able to do what you and I do because of the Internet is very exciting.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I can't see it happening. But, one can never tell.
Band History:
I'm usually solo. Played acoustic guitar in clubs and coffee houses back in the early 80's. I like to experiment with open tunings. Then I took a break for about 10-15 years.
Over the last 4 years, my musical tastes went to a crossroad, and I took the World/New Age path. I've seen lately that I tend to be in a strange, soundtrack mode, and trying to fit music to certain scenes, real or imaginary.
Your influences?
I'm currently influenced by Kori Linae Carothers, Runestone, Gandalf, WIM, Australis, Richard Wright, David Arkenstone, David Lanz, Mehdi, Govi, Chris Spheeris, and many more.
Favorite spot?
In the mountains, and the hills of upstate NY, specifically Otsego County. Many Iroquois Indian villages were located in the area long ago, and it still holds that mystique. With maple, and pine forests with ferns, streams and ponds, few people have seen it over the last 150 years. It's my own personal getaway.
Equipment used:
Renaissance electric (1980 prototype), Gibson Dove acoustic, Cordoba Spanish guitar, Ibanez RG, Mackie 1202 mixer, Roland Juno-D, Radium 61 keyboardSamson R6a Rubicon speakers,SonarX1 DAW, Dimension Pro, Rapture, SampleTank 2, Ozone 4, Blue 1.9
Anything else...?
There are some great musicians on Soundclick. Best of luck to all of them!
