It has been said by many that Angwish is the best alternative rock band to come out of Charlotte, NC. After forming in 1996 Angwish evolved from a fierce punk band into a clever hook-oriented power trio retaining their energy and raw emotion from their earlier years and also adding the sophisticated Rickenbacker jangle to complement their unique sound.

The band has honed their charismatic stage presence over two east coast tours, playing concerts in Atlanta, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Charleston WV, Charleston SC, Athens GA, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Atlantic City, Myrtle Beach and many others. Spastic body flailing and equipment destruction has astounded music fans and inspired comparisons to great bands such as Nirvana, The Replacements, REM, The Pixies, and the Foo Fighters.

After releasing their debut EP on their own label Angwish caught the attention of the small Charleston, SC independent label Street Records, and they subsequently released two full length cds on this label, the first, "Prototype" in 1999 and its follow up "485" in 2002.In 2003 Angwish signed a deal with the Austrian chapter of Red Bull for use of their songs in advertisements. Angwish's songs will also be featured in the independent film "Seeds". The band's plans for 2005 is to record a third cd and tour the US and abroad indefinitely.
