Zero:One is a project started (in Melbourne, Australia) back in 2004 by singer, writer, programmer and all round musician Zero. During this short period of life, the band has created numerous dark brooding songs centred around its many daily influences. With songs containing brooding, dark, mechanical beats which shift through harsh EBM, ambient, darkwave, and industrial scapes. Zero:One will never be limited to a specific genre and will continue to grow with every daily breath.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet has revolutionized the music industry allowing bands and fans alike to share their music for free and ultimately give people freedom of choice, instead of being spoon fed by tv and radio stations. It has also given smaller bands a chance to voice their music to a much wider audience than ever before!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course!
Band History:
Zero:One was conceptualised back in 2004 with the group forming to take on the Australian music scene with its lack of acceptance for dark music. The new demo album 'Rising Darkness' will be released later this year, and will consist of five tracks.
Your influences?
Suicide Commando, Terminal Choice, NIN, David Bowie, Joy Division, Marylin Manson + the spooky kids, Front 242, Queen, Iron Maiden, Early Metallica, .....too many, it is an injustice just to name these few!
