We are Baby Pancakes and we can't believe there aren't more bands like us. Actually...there probably are, but not a fat lot in Birmingham. We started off as a psychadelic ragga jam but this gave way to a more approachable pop/fun/jazz twist which sounds awful but is actually quite fetching.
Why this name?
About four years ago...a friend of the band's woke up from a drug induced coma and said "Aww...baby pancakes." No metaphwoars round here.
Do you play live?
We're playing quite regularly around Birmingham at the moment. We've naturally had some highlights but also had some shambolic gigs so I guess the crowd's a mixed bag.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's easy to check out bands you're playing live with. Just wham on their website and listen to them. If they sound shite....great stuff! If they sound awesome....leg it!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah. I think we'd hate to be signed to anything less.
Band History:
Like I said before....we just started off jamming, then we got a lock up, did it up...summer came, with the summer came pop and fun and blues and booze and the Baby Pancake formula. We've been going for about a year
