Welcome to Bandwagon's music.
All these songs are written, played, recorded, and mastered by myself with the help of my instruments and this PC (now Mac) on my desk.
To listen to the tunes, click the above link, 'music' or go to my site, jamescooley.com for other links.
Also on this site is Bandwagoneers music. Bandwagoneers are recordings done by myself with friends.
Why this name?
Bandwagon - I am influenced by so many artists that I essentially jumped on all their bandwagons. Also, when I finally get in a group that is willing to play this music, the crowd will be in stiches when we get hauled off the stage in a covered wagon. ...but I digress...
Do you play live?
As of 2007, performing with 2 groups in the Tampa Bay area. I love it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I am able to record on my own, without a group, and put out my songs without ever performing. For the record, I'd rather perform.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
You bet.
Band History:
I learned music two main ways: taking private jazz saxophone lessons and attending a two year music theory class. I played tenor sax in the jazz/rock group James Cooley Quintet (JCQ). Chicos' Groove quickly became my favorite band, though. We played whatever we wanted. Chicos' was a high energy band. When I lived in Seattle, there were a couple metal and alternative groups I was with. There are hand-fulls of jazz bands and rock bands amongst all this.
Your influences?
Primus, Blood Sweat & Tears, Bob Mintzer, Metallica, and Toadies.
