Hey,
My name is Ron and this is my music; this is my passion and this is what I do.
I named the project Shastasheen to give it the feel of being a band. However, it's not a real band, it's more just me for now. Not to say that I'm not looking for a band to go around me, it's just that I needed some way to get out my music for the time being.
Anyway, enjoy the music and rock on.
Sincerely,
Ron

Why this name?
"Velouria" by the Pixies has a line in it that mentions the word "Shastasheen". It just sounded cool.
Do you play live?
No live stuff as of yet, although I am playing for my friend when he proposes to his girlfriend (I'm so honored that he picked me instead of just putting on a CD).
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet cultivates a rich musical community. If only the major labels could embrace that community instead of try to kill it, maybe music wouldn't be so dismal right now.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only if they offered a good contract that would result in good exposure and fair treatment.
Band History:
Once upon a time, Ron was writing songs when he came across the idea to release the songs online for the world to hear.
Ecstatic to find SoundClick, Ron registered and signed up to have a site, but he needed a name. It just so happened that he was listening to the Pixies, and so it began. Shastasheen.
In the month of April, four songs were written, one of which was good enough to make it to recording, "Let's Get Married". Finally, on May 6, 2005, a good enough version of "Let's Get Married" was recorded and released to SoundClick. From the get-go, "Let's Get Married" created quite a buzz and has been sitting in the top fifty for eight weeks and counting... not bad for the first song released.
As for the future, look for more Shastasheen.

Your influences?
Weezer, Ozma, The Fleetwoods, The Beach Boys, The Beatles... anything with good harmony, good guitar, and good emotion.
Favorite spot?
I love the forest. Nothing more inspiring than nature's beauty.
Equipment used:
For my electric, I have a starter Ibanez. For my acoustic guitar, I have a cheap Montana acoustic. I also have a DigiTech RP80 guitar effect modeler which I intend to use more on future demos.
