My name's Andy Poore, but I usually go by Ando. I have another band registered here ("The FullyClothed Men", now esentially defunct), and am working on starting up another. But since I have done some work by myself and with some of my close friends, I decided to register an account just for myself so that until/unless this band I'm working on gets going, people can still hear my work.
Why this name?
Well, let's see, it's my name...
Do you play live?
As of yet, no. That doesn't mean I don't want to, it's simply a result of not knowing of any good local gigs. That plus the fact that I want to wait until I can form a band around me. Once I have a band around me, I'll really start looking hard for local gigs.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
See my comment under "The FullyClothed Men" for my answer to this question. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/7/thefullyclothedmen.htm
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not as a solo act, but again, that hypothetical band would change matters...
Band History:
I've always been musical. I grew up living and thriving on music. I wrote my first song at age 7...it wasn't very deep, and the music was laughably simple, but it made me happy. At age 6, I started learning how to play my dad's guitar, and I added piano lessons at age 9. I bought my first guitar with money I got for my 15th birthday, and at that point, I really started working on learning to play modern music.
During the 2 years I was in a band (we had several names, from "Shadow" to "Phoenix" to "Black Phoenix before it died), my music matured, and I finally figured out how to write a good song.
Leaving Black Phoenix and having The FullyClothed Men become a hibernating band has not stopped me from playing, nor from writing songs. This is who I am.

Your influences?
Barenaked Ladies, Gordon Lightfoot, The Beatles, Default, Fastball, to some degree John Denver, also to a small degree James Taylor. Basically, I am heavily influenced by good guitar work.
Favorite spot?
Actually, I am rather fond of my college campus : Kennesaw State University
Equipment used:
The guitar I use (the one you'll hear in the recordings) is an Ibanez that's older than I am. 15 years older than I am. It's the one my Dad got when he was a teenager, and because it has such a beautiful sound, and since I use it more than him, he gave it to me. Thank you, Dad.
Anything else...?
I couldn't be where I am without the love and support of my parents. Thank you both. Also, the friendship, advice, and guidance of Brian, Jeff, and Justin has helped my music, so thank you all. And of course, thanks to Kim and Jamie for being 2 of the coolest girls...EVER!
