Born in Olney, Maryland and raised in Frederick, Maryland. Victory has emerged into a monster behind the mic. At age 20, he is now ready to leave his mark on the rap game. Chris Shewbridge a.k.a. Victory has been writing lyrics/poems ever since he was 7 years old, and as he got older he became more and more serious with the rap game. After dropping out of school at age 16, thats when he pushed hiself beyond his limits and dedicated himself completely to the game. Writing songs all day, recording in the studio all night, his music and talent became his life. Sometimes he spends long days on the streets handing out CD's, promoting his music all on his own just trying to get heard by the right person. Victory landed himself in the Frederick County Detention Center after his mother called the cops and had him arrested for having a pound of marijuana in the house. He spent a short stay at the county jail and was released on two years of probation, which ends in September 2008. After his release from jail, he came back and hit the streets hard with multiple mixtapes. There is much more to come from Victory in the future with or without a major deal so be on the look out!!
Why this name?
I do whatever it takes to win, I'm a victorious dude.
Do you play live?
Yeh, as often as possible. It really doesn't matter to me where I perform at, as long as there is a good crowd ready to get up on their feet and rock with me.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well theres a positve and a negative to this... For the major artist out there trying to make money, downloading their songs for free off the internet causes them to lose ALOT of sales but on the other hand for the underground artist's like myself the internet is a great and easy way to promote yourself and get your music out and heard by the public.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure, if they could afford me! hahaha
Band History:
I wrote my first song when I was 7 years old and ever since then I've been dedicated to rapping. I've been in a couple of different groups through out the years, but sometimes I dont have the patience to wait on other people because once my sh*** is done I'm ready to move on to the next thing.
Your influences?
2pac, Lil Wayne, Juelz Santana, Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Nas, Lloyd Banks, Ray Charles, Kanye West, Bone Thugs, Cassidy, Eminem, Stevie Wonder, N.W.A.
Favorite spot?
Baltimore, and of course my hometown Frederick
Equipment used:
Home Studio.
