Band History:
Jim Holmes aka The Aborted was always in awe of Leicester’s 80’s New Wave scene that brought us New Age, Future Toys and The Deep Freeze Mice, but it wasn’t until people he actually knew came along like Rev Head and Urban Surfers that he picked up his first bass guitar in the early 90’s. With these and other influences like Severed Heads and The Residents, he formed the shambolic avant-garde duo Jesus Head in 1992 with old school friend Gordon McKinnon. Too much alcohol, not enough talent and only one instrument doomed the project to failure. Jim acquired more equipment and honed his act over further cassettes, produced by sound-on-sound (superimposing each part over previously recorded parts) for want of multitracking. Following a brief reformation of Jesus Head in 1995, he was asked to join local goth industrial metal punk band Tetsubo on the strength of owning a bass guitar.
