Introducing.. Colm Barry
Solo Musician, Singer, Songwriter, Performer & Recording Artist, from Wexford, Ireland.
I have been performing in Ireland since 1993.

Why this name?
I chose to stick with my birth name rather than choose a stage name. I am often remembered as the son of Jerry Barry, whos was very popular in his days with the 'Corvettes' Showband and 'Bunclody Ceili Band'. His love for me and music have always been my main inspiration, still to this day.
Do you play live?
I play live accross Ireland on a weekly basis.
I play keyboards and sing as a one man band.
I have shared stage with Ireland's top Country acts, Declan Nerney, Jimmy Buckley, Mick Flavin, Johnny Loughrey & Paddy O'Brien to name a few..
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think technology & the internet has it strengths and threats. While we have a wealth of musical resources at our fingertips downloading is killing the CD sales market. Personally I think the positives far outweigh any threats.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I think I would need to know what level of say I'd have in my music. My music serves my identity and I wouldn't sell my identity under any circumstances.

Your influences?
I always loved to listen to my dad play and sing. I remember him everytime I play the old songs. I feel inspired listening to Elvis Presley, the songwriting of Lionel Richie & Tom Jones. I think the the performing ability of these artists is unique.
