Band History:
CC' M.O.A came into being in the summer of 2001. We were contemplating our last project "Enlighten" which included tracks

like Way to Belief, Fruits of Capitalism, Minority versus Majority back in 1995, it’s impact on the Muslim youth and our

concern for more materials in line with that style and content. The concern and the lack of Islam practiced in the Muslim

society at large and it's impact on the Muslim living in non-Muslim societies addressed in lyrics again became a goal for us.

After deep discussion on the lack thereof political poetry and tracks addressing contemporary issues with the thoughts and

concerns of Islam, Hasim City, Abdu Sabur and Amein started meeting weekly to add more to the poetic host of ideas

amidst the global Muslim community. We made sure that our process of putting together beats and poems did not compromise

the hukm in regards to producing music or it's performance. To our understanding we did not fall out of the itijihad made

by Imam Ghazali in regards to music and how to perform it. In 2001 we completed "Where is your equality", "Loose she likes

A lot" and Melody. In the summer of 2001 we comprised a CD and put it to sale at the International Muslim Expo in Brooklyn.

We received a lot of feedback leading to the formation of our website and our tracks uploaded to Muslims In Hip Hop MP3

website. Our track “Where's Your Equality” was chosen in its top ten. We completed our website www.lyricsnlightn.com.

Since we chose not to compromise the time spent with our family, community and carreers we have not made touring a

priority. We have decided to make at least three events a year insha Allah. We are Currently awaiting a new website along

with some new poetry insha Allah.

We appreciate your support and hope we can add to the numbers of excellent materials now from and to the Muslim youth.

Our website will respect each individuals correct understanding of the shariah, be it an idea widely accepted by the ulema or

an idea that is widely accepted yet recognized on a minority level. May Allah make us amongst those who are steadfast in all

things worthy of the hereafter!

Artist Bio:

Amein a.k.a Sites/Tongue of Toxins/Truthful Wisdom

I started rhyming under the tutelage of my uncle "Pistol Pete" in Harlem back in the late 70's trying to imitate my uncle and the

Furious Five. I would spend time trying to rap all types of everyday situations and literature that would come to mind. This love

for speaking thoughts on beats would continue from Harlem through Brooklyn from Melly Mel to Rahkim and a host of lyrically

talented artists from western culture. At the age of sixteen I noticed that I always favored tracks on the style and content of

the "Message" & "New York New York" by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.

At the age of sixteen other artists and listeners in my inner and out ciphers labeled my flow and content unique from the

common market. Not being my original goal it later became my concern what actually separated my flow and content

from other artists, popular and unpopular, especially being Muslim yet raised from similar backgrounds of many Hip Hop

artists.

This is when a lyrical crossroads came into being and my tracks evolved from intellectual flows and concepts to flows paired

with concepts addressing our spiritual/political reality in need of Islam.

18 was really an age where I personally questioned what did it mean for me to be Muslim and how I would allow it to

effect my life. It started with the concerns of just belief in Allah and His Messenger then it went further to concepts that

stemmed from what it meant to believe and act comprehensively with Islam. How would a comprehensive adoption of a belief

system directly change the individual, group and society.

At the age of 21 I started sitting in the political circles of Islam and to this day have received

benefit from such political circles. Hence I address the spiritual and political issues of the Ummah and Humanity with poems

on banging tracks. I take most of my rulings from the shafi ulema, so as it is known that Music is considered harram before the

majority of it's scholars some did not hold that opinion. I am convinced of Imam Ghazali’s (r.a) itijihad, he is one from

amongst our highly reputable sheiyuk over the centuries, extremely intellectual with strong argument, religion and sincerity.

Imam Ghazali (r.a) is also a well known reputable mujatahid from amongst the Shafi Ulema. So as long as our work falls in line

with the hukm then it is Conscious Content. Therefore it's content will only be for the conscious with it's work coming from only

artist who are Message Oriented that message of course being Islam. Islam is for all humanity therefore may our message

reach as many ears as Allah wills.

I hope that you all will CC' MOA of our work manifest in the behavior of the individual, group and one society embracing Islam

comprehensively.

Amein has currently made exodus from East Harlem into East Orange and can be found with his beloved family or in a halaqah

or Masjid @ work!

May what we do outside of what we have spoken increase more than what the right hand or left hand can be accounted for!

Ameen!

Hasim City:

Hasim was raised in the ill side of Crooklyn, borne Muslim fighting the onslaught of crazy concepts infesting

New York, New York. At an early age He decided to answer the question behind the defeated mentality and behavior

of the Muslim Ummah. He himself being born to Muslim parents coming from a country where Islam could not be seen

in the public life, tough tests make a man progress or digress. Hasim City wanted progress and so he chose to

strive for the practice of Islam in his life and in the Muslim world. In the midst of striving for the dual implementation of Deen

he bumped into the brother Amein at Masjid Taqwa and they discussed Islam. A year later they were visiting all the halaqahat

in the masjid and home in the NY Metro area. One day Hasim City came across some tapes with some Muslim Artist's

and he bared witness that he himself was writing secretly. Five years later Hasim City through his lyrical state of mind grew

into banging beats and civilization, hence Hasim City! Hasim City is a lyricist, producer and great engineer

he has the ear!

Currently Hasim City made the exodus from Medina (Brooklyn) and resides in NJ. All is well, you will find him with his family or

building with his family on spiritual and political levels.

Abdu Sabur: Born and raised in Brooklyn, a lyricist with conscious content cultivated in Medina near Masjid Khalifah and Masjid

Taqwa vicinities. Abdu Sabur was writing socially conscious tracks a long time ago. He was also apart of the project

"Enlighten" where he enlightened us with phat lyrics on each track. He chose to continue putting together masterful lyrical

pieces along with banging beats (Remix: Loose she likes A lot) in 2001 and still going!

Currently Abdu Sabur resides in Brooklyn manifesting his lyrics and chi (inner energy). A well thought out and

relaxed brother/father/husband.

CC'MOA is state of being hence all those that fit the bar, are! And those that strive for it knowingly on unknowingly will be!

Peace is Comprehensive!
