Welcome!
Why this name?
The name "Banyan" refers to Banyan Grove of which Buddha was first enlightened. I am fond of this name because of its significance of strength and enlightenment of which i try to attain in my own life.
Do you play live?
Playing live Excites and stimulates me!!! It allows me to communicate my creative flow & through my instruments and devices I am able to recreate any track i have produced, but it will never be the same thing twice. I would have to say that I have never experienced more of a thrill, than seeing a person enthralled in the music that im performing.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has become a vital tool to allow musicians of all ranks to be able to put forth their creations to a much broader audience.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Picture this: you land a major record deal. Now think of a pie, The record company will get 88% of that, and you are left with 12%. Not bad you think? well out of the wopping 12% cut, everything that every had to do with you in regards to the music you were putting forth, wil be subtracted financially from that 12%. This includes: recording expences, Touring expences, Promotions, Distribution and any promises of "bling" the label puts forth as an incentive.
So in other words "no"
Band History:
Banyan is a native of Vancouver Island representing the West coast vibe through melodic breaks and down-tempo grooves.

His roots in music originated at an early age, however was not until later when he picked up the guitar that he began to fully comprehend the possibilities. After that it proliferated into other forms and more specifically towards various genres of electronica.
