Earth Groove Records president, co-founder, Dj and original artist DJ B.O.S.S (Beats Of Selected Sound aka Fabian Encina) has a digitized techno flavour influenced by old school funk like Rick James & George Clinton. A touch of new wave such as the German group Kraftwerk (late 70's early 80's) and one of the early 80's, house music founder out of Chicago like Steve Silk Hurley & Marshall Jefferson. Other influences include Todd Terry, Carl Cox, Derrick May, DJ Misjah & Emmanuel Top out of Europe. He has successfully released a 12' vinyl and an album with international recognition and radio play world wide.
Do you play live?
Mostly perform as a DJ when solicited. Mostly in Europe and the Americas.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it has enhanced the scene quite dramatically since the vinyl. There is so much technology out there that it has allowed independant artists to promote more easily.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I own and run my own record label. www.earthgrooverecords.com. I don't think I'll be needing the major labels for now.
Your influences?
Mostly the 80's mainstream. Although I was mostly influenced by Funk.
Favorite spot?
Home.
Equipment used:
I use tech 1200. For other, such as MP3 and or CD I use the PioneerCDJ1000.
