Paul Vincent
NEWS
Paul Vincent edited page to include only the songs from my latest project, american dust, a tribute to my favorite author, Richard Brautigan. These (nearly finished) tracks include adaptations of his works into my musical compositions along with some of my own lyrics I feel have been inspired or influenced by Brautigan's writing. The album begins with Machines of Loving Grace. Also, I've left on this page a cover of Gil Scott Heron's Winter In America as a tribute to this great poet/musician just days after his passing.

Why this name?
First name, middle name.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It removes the burden from my friends and family of having to be the only living souls available to listen to/evaluate my latest masterpiece!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No...If I suddenly and mysteriously wound up with aproduct in serious demand, I would seek independent means of distribution.
I am more interested in shopping songs around to more established artists.

Your influences?
I like the alt country stuff like Rodney Crowell or the Jayhawks. Lots of blues, Lonnie Brooks, Curtis Salgado. Guitar Jazz a la George Benson and Pat Metheny. Acoustic heroes like Willy Porter, Chris Smither. SO many female singers...Dar Williams, Shawn Colvin, Sherly Crow, Alanis, Tracy Chapman, etc...
