Why this name?
Micki Murphy is my real name, I stopped using stage names a few years ago. *My last stage name was 'DESIRE'
Do you play live?
Yes I perform live in Vegas as well as across the country, and internationally in showrooms, lounges, conventions, private parties, clubs, etc....
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has made is possible for new artist to be heard by the general public all over the world even without a record deal.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course I would. Who wouldn't!
Band History:
My mother was a jazz singer so I was exposed to music my whole life. I started singing in bands when I was 16 years old.
Your influences?
Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack, Natile Cole, Anita Baker, Pattie LaBelle, Stevie Wonder.
Favorite spot?
I love Tokyo, Japan I performed there for nearly 2 years and was well recieved and appreciated.
Equipment used:
I prefer performing with live musicians instead of sequenced music or tracks.
Anything else...?
I write songs and will continue to record, but my love is performing live on stage in front of in audience. I also write romance novels
