Double Deuce (now known as Perfection 22) is made up of two freshman roommates living at Michigan State University: Jeff Cornillie (on the left) and Brandon Pratt (on the right). Brandon is originally from Novi, Mi and plays the guitar while Jeff is orignally from Royal Oak, Mi and sings.
Do you play live?
"Special moment has to be when we wrote our first song 'Miles'. It was originally a poem my ex-girlfriend wrote me when I was going away to college, and one day B was strummin on his guitar and he came along with a real catchy tune. I told him we should add lyrics to it, and I ended up taking the poem Alley [my ex] wrote, fixing it up a bit, adding a chorus, and 'Miles' was born by the end of the day."
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
"It helps us little guys get our music out in the open so others can hear it and enjoy the message we're trying to send."
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
"That's our goal!"
Your influences?
Brandon: Howie Day, Jack Johnson, Matt Ryczek, John Mayer
Jeff: Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne
Favorite spot?
Brandon: Chicago, IL
Jeff: Southern California
Equipment used:
Fender
Anything else...?
"We went in as blind roommates so we didn't know each other at all before the beginning of the school year. I had sung all through high school, and B had taught himself to play the guitar only a month prior to us writing our first song. We normally sit in our room and play songs we like and when a catchy tune pops up in our head, we put it on the computer and record it."
