Heschent is a metal band from Edgewater, Maryland.
Why this name?
We couldn't think of a decent original name, so we used one that no one could pronounce. It means metalhead. Got it from a Korn video (early influence of ours - Not anymore).
Do you play live?
Locally. Anytime on stage is a special moment.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has affected it both positively and negatively. On one hand, music is more accessible, on the other, bands lose profits; Profits that they need to live.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on the circumstances.
Your influences?
Shadows Fall, Arch Enemy, In Flames, Carcass. Just some of the bands we listen to. We like to think our sound isn't really influenced a whole lot by other music, meaning that we're developing a somewhat original sound
