Divine Nightmare is the combinational efforts of Jason McMurtrey (All music) from the popular doom band Blood Legacy, And Mark Clausen (Vocals) from the bands Soul Inqusition & Long Since Dark. It's a balance of heaviness and dark rock that is much in the vein of bands like Katatonia & Sentenced. The band has been active sice the fourth quarter of 2004 and has been writing since 2003. If you like music in that genre, You don't want to miss it.

Why this name?

This band name was chosen by Jason McMurtrey to signify the effect of dreaming of someone or something you love more than life as being divine in nature, But then awaking to the world again and only truly being happy within in the dream although being forced to awaken, Is indeed a nightmare.

Do you play live?

Blood Legacy plays live and occasionally merits the forgoing of a Divine Nightmare song or two within it's set list. We love to play live and hopefully plan to do some material at a later time during some of the festivals that we are invited to on an ongoing basis.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

The internet distribution of material and albums has revolutionized the way we obtain or buy our music. No other way has been possible to sell so many albums over so many different forms of distributuion.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

We are signed with Division 13 Records, However Our contract is expiring and we are looking for a new label.

Band History:

Jason McMurtrey started Divine Nightmare in idea around 2003 when he began writing the material for the album "Sorrows of Dark" as an outlet to write different material outside of what he writes in the doom band Blood Legacy. After writing all the music & Lyrics, He brought in Mark Clausen to sing on the album for even more depth and completed work on the first of two Divine Nightmare Albums. The band is currently working on getting everything ready for release from Division 13 Records.

Favorite spot?

We hail from different cities, But id have to say I love the atmnosphere of my home here in Idaho.
