Real Christian Life Experiences On Wax.
Why this name?
sub·stan·tial: 1.of or having substance;material
not imaginary but real, and ample amount.I felt that I recieved a substantial amount of blessings from God in my life. Through-out the crimes, drugs, struggles and jails I was justified by faith through Jesus Christ. And That was all I needed to change my life "Substantially".

Do you play live?
I do play the keys but not live. I compose most of the tracks I record over and I love to be in charge of my own session and mixes.
Once at a performance an audience member cried during one of my songs and that was really special to me, inspiring me to press-on with this music for real and represent Christ and convey his message.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is the best thing that has happen to the world(if used correctly). My tunes and others can be heard thousands even millions of miles away in the comfort of their own homes or in a cafe' or anywhere with a laptop. Unfortuanly, alot of consumers thrive to get free tracks beacause the industry lacks incentives on records the buy. If the industry tried to change the way they promote and give away samples maybe they would cut down alot of piracies. Just A thought...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Distribution Only!
Give me about 5 years and that could be out the door. Look out here come the Indie's
Band History:
Substantial, known to friends and family as Jermaine D. Robinson Sr, is a Miami Florida native. He knew God had answered his prayer
when he relocated to Massachusetts at the age
of seventeen to reside with his extended
family. For years prior to his relocation Substantial wanted nothing more but to be removed from the pressured environment that introduced him to drugs, unimaginable violence, jails and a promiscuous lifestyle that resulted in the birth of his first born. In addition to all that he was dealing with, Substantial’s mother passed away at the age of forty-two, leaving him heartbroken and alone. Without his mother he had no direction, but even at that time God was directing his path. Within his first year in Massachusetts, Substantial began to see that God was giving him a second chance. Receiving Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at New Hope Community Church was the best thing that could have happened. Substantial knew he could not erase his dark past but with God now in his corner the future looked much brighter. Obtaining his High School Diploma and a certification in Business Administration gave Substantial all he had ever asked for, an opportunity. Very shortly thereafter Substantial’s musical ministry was birthed. Starting in his home church, youth rallies and anniversaries became his time to spread the gospel with a new approach. In 1999 Substantial founded Prophecy Productions and NU Life in Christ Ministries, stirring up his gifts of writing and producing for solo artist, groups and choirs. His mission is to become the barrier that crosses over into the secular music industry so that God‘s word can reach those who need it the most. In July 2003 Substantial released his first solo project “God Is More Than Enough”, a soul satisfying mixture of Gospel, R&B and Hip-Hop sure to please musically diverse listeners. Future projects from Substantial will include a compilation album with aspiring artist from the NU Life in Christ family and a second solo project. While perusing his goals and assisting others peruse theirs, Substantial diligently searches to unite with a distribution company to expand the ministry that God has given to him. Substantial endeavors to be a pioneer in the Gospel arena. Truly, God has blessed Substantial so that he may be a blessing to the world.
