First of shouts out to my team over at Sound Hustlaz Ent.....Our time is now let's ride this B*tch til the wheels fall off!!! What up it's the bol DJ Damage str8 outta Philly aka Iladephia aka The City of Brotherly Thugs.
Why this name?
Why Damage....because there are times when something is damaged it can be repaired. But in other instances it's beyond fixing....That's my mentality as far as music goes. Smash the game. Do it so well that it can't be fixed and you just have to love me or leave me alone.
Do you play live?
I'm a DJ first and foremost so I've of course done the party and club scene. I also make mixtapes. For right now my main focus is to get my record label off the ground. Sound Hustlaz Entertainment.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives the artist the freedom to let people from all over here them. The need to only be heard if you get signed to a label and hope you get radio play for others to hear you is a thing of the past. You can be heard from PA to CA and get madd love.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Right now I got my own label (Sound Hustlaz Ent) so all I'm really lookin for would be distibution deal.
Band History:
I been offically DJ-ing since like 95. But the love for music has always been there. I got a little spit game too, so i'll be droppin all types of sh*t on here from beats, to flows from me and my squad, to remixes, to anything I can think of that I think ya'll wanna hear.
Your influences?
On the rap tip - Nas, Rakim, Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Redman, Ludacris
Production tip - DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Havoc of Mobb Deep, RZA.
Favorite spot?
I haven't really toured like that alot to see what else is out there but I think where ever I lay my head my heart will always be in PhillY
Equipment used:
Two turntables and a Mic of course.
As far the production goes I'm just really gettin more into it so I ain't up on all the production programs out there and all the equipment. I started with just a regular sampler loopin beats...lol. I just gotta little keyboard I'm using right now with my laptop where I gotta Music Maker program on there. It ain't much it's gets the job done.
Anything else...?
Basically I'm a cat from Philly that got mad love for his city and rep it not matter where I'm at. I'm just tryin to be part of the this entertainment business and put myself, my team and my city on the map and hold this sh*t down. So shouts out to everybody up on this site that's doin they thing where ever you from...get at ya boy if you likin some of the sh*t you hearin maybe we can colab on something and make some classic sh*t. ONE!!!
