In these uncertain times Ovatronics has remained a constant force in the Independent music scene. Ovatronics was formed in 2002 By Arrogant and Don Nova formerly of the group The Vigilanteez out of Carson and Compton California. Don Nova started his career as an artist under the Vigilant umbrella working with Big Chris and Torrey Crowe two aspiring artists from the Compton area. The trio successfully put out their first album entitled ?Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities?. This album was a small breakthrough for the group as they started distributing the album to mom and pops store in and around Los Angeles, Chicago, and Denver.

Once the Vigilanteez disbanded to take on solo ventures Don Nova saw this as an opportunity to expand on his own legacy and vision. With that he released his solo project ?Surveillance? in 2004 under his newly formed Ovatronics label, which featured his younger brother Arrogant and the usual suspects.

Although the album was released mainly for their hardcore underground following and did not receive a lot of promotions or major radio airplay the album became a smash hit in the UK and in Japan.
Why this name?
To distinguish us from the rest of the millions of other cats trying to RAP. Our name is original our music is original so it just made sense.
Do you play live?
Only in the Studio. But I am always looking for some live musicians to tour with.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It evens the playing field for independent artist to have a chance to network. We are now able to receive world wide exposure without the help of mainstream radio airplay or assistance from the major Labels. I think its a new day and MP3's are the future. So to all my people who do not know, you better get you a spot on the internet.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, I feel I been doing this without em so far, plus being with a label you have to verify every move through your label you do not have total freedom over your art. Id rather stay Independent keep all the money not have to negotiate or be censored.

Band History:
I started in 1991 with The Vigilanteez with Compton's artists Chris Tucker (No Relation) and Torrey Crowe. I formed Overdose Entertainment and after enjoying some success we became Ovatronics. Long transition hard work and a never quit attitude, that is the only way you are going to make it in the business.
Your influences?
The Vigilanteez, T. Crowe, CCB Crew. And all the original artists out there making good music.
Favorite spot?
C-arson Californina, of course
Equipment used:
Ill write a book. How to blend by The Nova can you imagine that...
