The BRB
As the name suggests, he'd Be Right Back, after a huge battle with cancer, BRB is doing his first show in two years with the amazing crew, Brethren.
Brethren are some of the founding members of Sydney Hip Hop. The two man team, Mistery and Wizdm, are celebrating 20 years as a crew with the release of their epic new album Bastion.
Both individuals are veterans of the hip-hop scene in their own right and have gathered a loyal following and a lot of respect from the hip-hop community. Brethren featured on the first full length Australian hip hop album, starred in the first Australian hip hop documentary, and produced the first ever Australian hip hop concept album. They were also one of the first commercially signed hip hop crews in ....Australia.....
Brethren have appeared in Rolling Stone Magazine, the SBS Compass documentary The Mistery of Hip Hop, and on TV shows Recovery, Channel Vs Soup Kitchen, Room 208, and SBS's Alchemy. Brethren have supported acts such as Ice-T, Run DMC, Blackalicious, De La Soul, DJ Kool Herc, Playdough, and Vex Da Vortex.
Currently the crew are touring ....Australia.... with their release, Bastion. In Wizdms words, This has been one of the most exciting projects Ive worked on so far, not a concept album, no add ons, just a straight up Hip-Hop album. From Chuck Ds introduction to the last crescendo at the end we take you through some banging beats and lyrical treats!
Brethren are at their best live, and love to mix and mingle with the crowd so be sure to get along when they come to ....Canberra..... You can catch them at The Front Cafe (Lyneham Shops), 8pm Saturday 15 May, $8 on the door.
They will also be doing an all ages show at CLC, ..

Do you play live?
Thats what its all bout! Some highlights for me would be some gigs with Metaphysical Combat at Revolution in Sydney, Parliament House Canberra, Blackstump festival, St. Petersburg Russia and Finland... its all about the people & the vibe at the show yo..
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes... it would have to be the right one at the right time with the right deal. I've had some offers from people, but nothing life altering. Until then I'll keep doin my own thang as Metaphysical Productions! Helping out up & coming talent as well as producing my own music. -BRB
Band History:
BRB is a talented and witty emcee who is quick on his feet. He is a superb free-stylist, multi-lingual & brings a unique spontaneity to recordings, performances and battles. He speaks challenging and inspirational lyrics delivered with a smooth flow and will often shock the crowd by incorporating his immediate surroundings into his raps, he certainly adds life to any show from a small gathering to large festivals BRB is a seasoned performer and will not disapoint.
Originally from the US with Colombian heritage and now based in Australia, BRB combines an American east coast flow with a west coast flair in a laid back Aussie style. Cleverly written lyrics coupled with powerful freestyle result in his entertaining and moving songs. With original tracks and DJ work BRB brings a powerful duo of beats and rhymes together into one.
BRB worked with well-known Aussie Hip Hop crew 'Metaphysical Combat' for over 5 years and has gleaned much experience in the Australian Hip Hop scene and acquired a strong following in the ACT. He has shared the stage with talented acts such as Brethren, The Winnie Coopers,beatbox champion Joel Turner & Da Truth from Cross Movement among others.
Acting as lead emcee, composer, DJ, and producer for Metaphysical Combats EP, Were Metaphysical, BRB is a fully equipped and versatile artist. In addition he has acted as spokesperson and assisted in marketing for the band. BRB is clearly an artist whose passion drives him above and beyond where your average emcee is prepared to go.
Philosophical in approach to his music, BRB uses Hip Hop to inspire, encourage and uplift his listeners. With everyday experiences incorporated into his songs, BRB produces a professional sound quality while telling an honest story which connects with his listeners.
