My name is Scott Dallas Espenschied. I'm from Canton Ohio, born and raised. I went to Perry High School and graduated in 2002. My father wanted me to play piano (just like him) so he started me up on lessons when I was 8 years old. I developed an ability to play by ear and started recording my own music when I turned 12. I've been doing that ever since. I bought myself an acoustic-electric guitar, Senneheiser microphone, 2 synthesizer/keyboards (mostly used for the piano sounds), and other important recording hardware. I plug it all into my computer with my home made recording studio and this way I can record in cd quality. So, that's what I do. That's a pretty basic description. It's probably a lot more complicated than I make it sound. I hope you enjoy my music as much as I enjoy making it.
Why this name?
I thought I heard the Beastie Boys say 'like a DJ Spoof' in one of their songs... but here they didn't.
Do you play live?
I have, I can, but I rarely do. I love to do it. I would much rather play live for people than to play alone! It gives me somewhat of a rush to have people listening.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Having music on the internet through mp3 and wma technology is beautiful. It helps artists like me to share my music with the world rather than just with my immediate area and/or friends.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If a label would like to sign me I would love to sign with them. I love when other people also enjoy my music as much as I do. That would definitely get my music to many more ears.
Your influences?
Kings of Convenience and many more...
Favorite spot?
New York City
