Signed contract with independent lable Spotlight Records on March 12th. Working with Producer Jeff Anderson of Sound Logic Recording Studio from Lafayette,Indiana on first CD starting in July.

Category IV the rock band is one of the most melodic, energetic, and talented bands to hit the scene for quite some time. Category IV has a down-home Rock and Roll flavor with just a sprinkle of heavy metal in just the right places. With tasty originals such as Dirty Bonez, Wherever You Go, Take Your Train, and Stood By You, along with some old covers...they are sure to leave a pleasant and familiar taste in your mouth...always satisfying and sure to bring you back for more.
Why this name?
We though that a good rock name should come from a storm idea such as a hurricane therefore we finally decided on Category IV.
Do you play live?
Yes, we play local gigs in the Columbus, Ohio area. We love playing any chance we get. We were playing in a small club called the Dugout with less than 100 people when a independent record label executive spotted us and signed us to a recording contract on March 12, 2005. Really cool!!!!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We are expanding our presents on every music website on the net everyday which can help expose Category IV worldwide without major label assistance. Talk about change, in the music industry the internet is a tremendous marketing tool.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only if it would better our position in the music world.
Band History:
Formed in 2003, the band consists of seasoned veterans of the central Ohio music community. Strong lead vocals and guitar by legendary front man Donnie Kuhn, an earth shattering rhythm section with Jon Hawks on bass guitar, powerhouse Mike Gibbs on skins and one of the hottest lead guitar slingers anywhere by the name of Jay Ott.
