About the New EP from Stephen Michael:

Buy it here cdbaby.com/stephenmichael

Guitarist Stephen Michael has been playing guitar for 8 years.

Drifting in and out of Progressive Death Metal bands, he has decided to return to his Progressive Rock Roots.

"Sketches from a Dream" is a Declaration of Revolution for the Instrumental Progressive Rock world!

The CD is a call to the return of emotion and spirituality of instrumental rock.

Much like Steve Vai's "For the Love of God", Stephen Michael's "Sketches from a Dream" dips into the emotions of a generation in order to seek answers to some of life's greatest questions.

This EP is only a sample of great guitar stunt work to come!

This 6 track CD is merely a awe inspiring glimpse into what will be an amazing music career.

Most importantly, Stephen's CD brings back what is missing from the Instrumental Rock scene: THE SHRED!

A little Background on myself:

My Name is Stephen and I've been playing guitar for 8 years.

I used to be in a Death Metal band called Violent Insight

I have a love for listening to and playing all forms of "extreme" music, so this is basically my outlet for anything that doesn't fall under that heading.

Also some of my early mixes for my Death-Metal solo project, Sargam, will appear here!

There's aslo A LOT of REALLY OLD music on here from when I was like 15-16 haha.

I love just jammin' out with friends and experiencing the different expressions of life.

Life is a canvas and music is my paintbrush.

It's fun to dig holes, would you like to dig with me?

Why this name?
It's my first and middle name!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It made people realize that music isn't about the money, it's about the feeling. My favorite artist may be Metallica, but I disagree heavily with Lars' opinion. Once you make music, it belongs to the people, so download away!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
Your influences?
Steve Vai, Joe Stariani, Buckethead, Al Dimeola, Paco De Luchia, Hendrix, SRV, Lamb of God, In Flames, As I Lay Dying, Arch Enemy, Norma Jean, Between the Burried and Me, Slayer, Pantera, CIV, Ill Gotten Gainz, The Ramones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Coldplay, The Moody Blues, Finch, Dashboard Confessional, Divit, Bodyjar, Fenix TX, Blink-182, Green Day, Johnny Cash, Dave Mathews Band, Glass Casket, Between the Buried and Me, Opeth, John Mayer, Lenny Kravitz, Ben Folds, They Might Be Giants, Alterbridge, Killswitch Engage, Is Nothing Sacred?, The Cynic Project, Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Beneath the Massacre, Abigail Williams

Anything that's honest and moves me :D
